LEVANTINA CONSOLIDATES ITS STRATEGIC PLAN ACQUIRING A NATURAL STONE DISTRIBUTOR IN THE USA
Technoclassic, Techlam and the Naturamia brands have been positioned amongst the most representative products in the ceramics channel and in the kitchen and bath channel.
Alicante/Madrid, February 13th of 2007- The new Technoclassic, Techlam and the Naturamia brands of the global leading group in the exploitation, transformation and commercialization of natural stone, have been enthusiastically received at the Cevisama and Marble’07 events from both the international and national professionals of the construction, remodelling and furniture industries. Levantina has again positioned itself as the reference company in the natural stone industry, since it was the first Spanish company to start up a production line based on the synergy between marble and porcelain products.
During this time, Levantina has established export contacts with more than 17 countries, amongst which are Ireland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Korea and Taiwan. Some commercial operations have been signed with the export trade distribution representatives of these countries, while in the national market, more than 100 distributors have manifested interested in distributing the products of the company. It is expected that in the next few weeks distribution agreements will be consolidated with some of them, witnessing how well the new products have been received by the experts in both the kitchen & bath and the ceramics channels, channels in which Technoclassic particularly has had particular good acceptance due to its technical and aesthetic characteristics.
One of the objectives of the Strategic Plan of the Alicante Group at Novelda, is the large-scale international expansion the company plans for the next few years that will also serve to balance the importance occupied to date by the national market.
According to the objectives of the Strategic Plan, approved last October, Levantina has acquired one of the main natural stone distribution companies in the USA, International Stone Design, which will now manage the warehouses that the Levantina Group own in Washington. The main objective for the acquisition of this Texan company is to increase sales of the company’s products in the USA, whose turnover is currently 70 million euros, of which this recent acquisition will contribute 20 million euros.
Tthe “Levantina Group has 75% of the American company International Stone Design, while the remaining 25% will continue to be held by the current owner, Francisco Acosta. This acquisition marks Levantina’s take-off towards its priority objective described in its Strategic Plan, which is to reach the 610 million euros mark on sales on the year 2010.”
