The use of Natural Stone and spaces made with TECHLAM® porcelain stoneware solidify the position of LEVANTINA products in the sector of avant-garde interior design.
Novelda/Barcelona, 12th November 2009. CASA DECOR Barcelona opens the doors of the emblematic Llorens building to present its newest creations in decoration and interior design. The exceptional location in the midst of the Eixample district of Barcelona and a magnificent modernist setting ensure a successful event.
As it has in past editions, the multinational of Natural Stone LEVANTINA is once again working with different designers to create unique spaces that only its products can render. The company's broad range of marbles, granites, slates, limestones, quartz surfaces and TECHLAM® porcelain stoneware are put at the service of design and, combined with the firm's experience and expertise, ensure the best possible results.
As proof of this, the architect Héctor Ruiz, an unabashed backer of TECHLAM®, has used the material to create a house in which the porcelain springs into movement as part of the “Whirlpool Space,” a kitchen made versatile by the mobility of sliding walls coated with TECHLAM® Black. These walls can be adapted as needed, yielding different spaces in a single room. The low thickness of the revolutionary TECHLAM® by LEVANTINA and its high degree of resistance were the deciding factors in using it on the mobile walls to make its movements much easier.
The space was dynamic from its very conception, as the presence of a chef and the performance of a number of daily activities to put to the test the functionality of LEVANTINA in usages that are new and unique in Spain, namely the new kitchen counter surfaces made of TECHLAM® porcelain stoneware. Water-tight, hygienic, scratch-resistant and, above all, they cannot be burned by the heat of pots and pans, etc. It is also an environmentally friendly product because it is 100% natural.
For his part, the Madrid designer Alejandro Briones has created a living room that relies on the versatility of Marbella Limestone as a pavement. A material generally used in exteriors plays the lead role in this setting, creating the utmost warmth and luminosity. Limestone, owing to its rustic texture and chromatic homogeneity, creates an even cosier ambience. Alejandro designs spaces that clearly show his way of understanding interior design, always based on the principles of elegance, modernity and diversity, where natural stone plays a key role as a material of the past, present and future.
The CasaDecor Barcelona 09 has once again shown the great popularity of LEVANTINA products among architects and decorators in creating new realities. Noble and innovative materials that reinvent themselves to retain their status as leaders in the sector of decoration.
