ProductCrema Marfil Coto®
An organisation of the stature of EUIPO needed headquarters that would match its significance. The building situated in Alicante displays a luminous modernity, reflected in the presence of Crema Marfil Coto® marble in its communal areas.
The magnificent complex that houses EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) stands in a very beautiful coastal enclave situated in the province of Alicante. The project stands out for the amplitude of its communal spaces, with ceilings that appear to literally float above the external glass and metal walls. To accentuate the feeling of openness and great luminosity that floods the interior, the site’s communal spaces were clad in Crema Marfil Coto® marble. This material, widely known for its gorgeous nuanced white hue, benefits from a polished finish to create a great sheet of light that visually enhances the size of each area.
At the EUIPO headquarters, Crema Marfil Coto® marble is combined with other materials to create zones where the fusion of textures takes centre stage. The transparency of glass, the power of metal and the personality of concrete are the allies of this Natural Stone when cladding an architectural project called to become a landmark in the province. The palette of neutral hues chosen for the project has revealed itself to be a success: a fantastic range of whites, ochres and greys that reproduces the colours of the surrounding landscape and evokes in its textures the inimitable light of the Mediterranean.
