Muerde La Pasta

Corten steel is a fundamental material in contemporary architecture. With all of the beauty of its oxidised hues and unbeatable technical qualities, Techlam® Steel Corten reveals itself as the perfect cladding for the facades of the Muerde la Pasta restaurant.

It is impressive for its exterior as well as its interior: large, spacious and very contemporary, the Muerde la Pasta restaurant, located in the Parque Oeste Shopping Centre (Alcorcón, Madrid) has become one of the area’s architectural hallmarks. The main reason is its commitment to a seamless modernity, where the facades clad in Techlam® Steel Corten porcelain tiles rise up with restraint inspired by the finish of oxidised steel.
Combined with wisely-distributed areas of wood, the ensemble constitutes an exercise in balance and rationality, free of architectural excesses. Straight lines are cut off at key points and are adorned with appealing materials like Techlam® Steel Corten, alongside panels of tempered glass and solid wood slats. The passage of time will give the wood a patina that will ultimately fuse with the oxidised look of the porcelain product to create an emblematic building like few others.
